I'm Özlem Evans, a German journalist with Turkish roots and a lifelong curiosity about people and their stories.

​

I have to admit, writing about myself feels a little strange. After all, I've spent most of my career writing about other people. So where do I begin?

​

Perhaps with Angelina Jolie.

​

It was 2003, and I was an intern when I was given an incredible opportunity: a 45-minute live interview with Angelina Jolie.

​

I prepared obsessively. I remember how nervous I was as they attached my microphone and how excited I felt when she finally walked into the room. But something unexpected happened when the countdown ended and I asked my first question: the nerves disappeared. I was completely in my element.

​

And right then, I knew this was what I wanted to do.

More than two decades and hundreds of interviews later, that feeling hasn't changed.

​

Since then, I've had the privilege of interviewing some of the biggest names in entertainment, hosting countless red carpets, and enjoying a few unexpected adventures along the way - including lending my voice to a German news anchor in Disney's Zootopia.

​

Today, I continue to work as a journalist, covering entertainment, film, television, and the fascinating people behind the headlines. My work has also taken me beyond the entertainment world, allowing me to explore new subjects and tell different kinds of stories.

​

But no matter who I'm interviewing or what I'm writing about, one thing has always remained the same: I'm interested in the person behind the persona.

​

The little details. The unexpected answers. The moments when someone forgets about the cameras and simply becomes themselves.

Because everyone has a story worth telling.
